New Mexico Good Sam

                   NEW MEXICO COMPUTER SAMS

The New Mexico Computer Sams Chapter is a computer service chapter composed of members from all areas of the State of New Mexico.  It was chartered on November 5, 1994 for Good Sam members that have an interest in computers and RV’s.  The New Mexico Computer Sams have two goals as a chapter.  One will be to help teach it’s members in the use of the personal computer.  The other role of the chapter will be to assist the New Mexico State Good Sam Organization with computer support and services.

The chapter has four working meetings a year.  Two meetings (work sessions) are held prior to the Spring and Fall Samborees to produce the Gazette (State Newsletter); update the State membership database; prepare the Samboree program; create pre registration name tags and discuss a computer  training schedule for the Samboree.  The other two meetings are held at the Spring and Fall Samborees where the membership conducts computer training classes; prepares registration name tags for ‘walk ins’; creates a variety of ancillary reports for the State Director; sign up sheets for games and many other computer tasks.  The chapter owns their own laptop computer, scanner, printers, application and  computer training software.

You do not have to have strong computer skills to be a member of Computer Sams.  There are several duties such as proof-reading that do not require computer skills.
