Founded June 19, 1971
New Mexico's First Good Sam Chapter
     Zia (Sun) Roamers (Wanderers)

Good Sam International created chapters as a means to establish a group of recreational minded individuals who come together to enjoy each other and to provide a helping hand to our communities.

The Zia Roamers are located primarily in Albuquerque, NM. However, we welcome any person(s) from anywhere, from any walk of life, to join our group and participate in our activities.

Those activities include: random campouts taken at various times to take part in the events, seasons and splendor our country has to offer to the recreational enthusiast; gatherings to learn games which allow us to participate in the tournaments offered at the state rallies; monthly meetings to plan campouts, tours, charity functions, picnics, craft classes and any number of activities.

Membership in our chapter requires only that you are a member in good standing of the Good Sam Club.  Our dues are $20.00 per rig per year and only 1/2 that if you join after July 1st.  We ask $1 per person at our gatherings to defray cost and contribute to the charity account.  Our members are both retired and working individuals.  For more information and to obtain an application please contact our Vice President "Larry Porr" at lkporr1950@gmail.com

We have on going charities.  Several of our members are making blankets to contribute to the Linus project here in Albuquerque.  Everyone helps gather aluminum to generate funds for Dogs for the Deaf and in December we usually donate funds to several local charities such as: Habitat for Humanity and the APS clothing bank.  We have also helped with the Roadrunner Food Bank, the annual Clean Up Day in May to clean parks or walking trails, prepared a meal for the Ronald McDonald house and anything else we can find to help.

Our campouts are planned based on the time schedules of the members.  We look for events such as: music festivals, other state rallies, celebrations, etc.  At the campouts we participate in Happy Hour, making of crafts, playing games, going to events, scheduling tours, and enjoying good food.

On the second Saturday of each month we have an in-town luncheon/meeting at various locations to plan our activities.

You can visit our links below for schedules or contact one of our officers to find out whats being planned currently.
